Data Protection Statement 

The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR EU 2016/679) which replaces the Data Protection Directive 95/46/EC is designed to harmonise data privacy laws across Europe, protect and empower all EU citizens’ data privacy and reshape the way organisations across the region approach data privacy. The Data Protection Act 2018 gives effect to the GDPR. This policy reflects the GDPR and the changes implemented by the Data Protection Act 2018 and sets out how the Labour Court processes personal data and ensures users and staff understand the rules governing the use of personal data.

Our Legal Basis for processing your personal data

The Labour Court is required by data protection law to indicate to you the legal basis which relates to our use of your personal data. These are:

  • Article 6(1)(e) GDPR - processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official functions vested in the controller.
  • These functions are set out in the Industrial Relations Act 1946, the Workplace Relations Act 2015 and related legislation.
