COVID-19 Update - 25 March 2020

The following is the position with respect to Labour Court operations to 19th April 2020:

The health of staff, members and users of the Labour Court is the priority throughout all of this extraordinary period and is the measure against which Court operations have been and will be planned.

The operational meaning of the overnight Public Health guidance having regard to the Court’s scheduled programme of hearings to 19th April is that none of the matters scheduled to be heard could, in the view of the Chairman, be regarded as critical in the sense that the word is used by Government and Public Health Authorities in current guidances.

Therefore, the Chairman has decided that all scheduled hearings of the Labour Court will now be cancelled up to and including 19th April 2020 including hearings scheduled for Lansdowne House and other venues.

Should any party consider that any matter arising or scheduled to be heard between 26th March and 19th April is critical, contact should be made with the Court on appeals@labourcourt.ie and the Chairman will, if appropriate, arrange for a hearing of such a matter.

Parties to appeals and referrals which are scheduled to be heard between 26th March and 19th April will be notified directly by the Court of cancellation of hearings including by e-mail where e-mail addresses have been supplied.
