Hearings in Lansdowne House COVID-19 Protocols
Notice as regards Labour Court Operations – 16th September 2020
Labour Court hearings scheduled for a physical hearing in Lansdowne House and which involve a party or parties based outside the County of Dublin during the week beginning 21st September will be postponed.
The decision to postpone these hearings reflects current public health advice that , where possible, travel from Dublin to other counties and from other counties to Dublin should be avoided. The Labour Court will, in the interest of the safety of parties and Court personnel, follow Public Health advice at all times’.
The Court’s programme will be reviewed and updated against public health advice as it evolves over the coming days as regards hearings programmed for a physical hearing after 27th September 2020.
Scheduled hearings programmed for hearing in a Virtual Court room are unaffected by this decision as are all hearings scheduled for physical hearing in Lansdowne House not involving a party or parties based outside the County of Dublin.
Labour Court hearings scheduled for hearing in a physical Court room are conducted in line with public health guidance and return to work protocols. These measures include social distancing and increased hygiene measures as well as building specific public health precautions.
The Court publishes its programme of employment rights based hearings weekly on its website. However, by reason of the exceptional circumstances that have been put in place to ensure minimum presence at hearings in the interest of public health, there is no physical capacity to provide for persons not directly involved to attend the physical hearings in Lansdowne House. Attendance by the public at hearings convened in a Virtual Court room can be arranged on request. Any request from a member of the public to attend a public hearing of the Court held in a Virtual Court room should be made by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
